Charm Jewelry

Charm jewelry as a part of a fashion statement is one item that never loses its appeal. You can be fashionable with charm jewelry in just about any situation or occasion. Regardless of who the person is or what age he or she may be, a few charms on a bracelet can look great. It also comes in many forms and allows you to express your individuality.

If you’re creative and want your own unique charm jewelry, consider making your own. One of the most intricate ways of making charms is through a process called lost wax casting. This is one of the best methods for creating fine charms or other jewelry items. Go to the Internet and research on how to make a piece with this method.

There are numerous ways that are available when it comes to making charm jewelry. Almost all of those different ways are relatively inexpensive and fairly easy to do. Just use an assortment of beads and other items and you can make almost anything a piece of jewelry. If you need beads, chains or other pieces, a number of different wholesale or outlet stores exist. And don’t forget to get a “how to” manual.

You can also take an existing bracelet and create something more stylish or funky by adding individual charms to it. Most of the time, it only involves the use of a couple of pairs of pliers and a few charms. It’s done by creating ab opening in a small loop, or ring. You do this with the two pliers. After that, you add the charm to that loop or ring. Once that’s done, thread the ring through a link in the bracelet and then close it back up. It’s all as simple as that!

There are almost as many different methods for creating charm jewelry as there are pieces of jewelry available. Also, you can take just about any item and make a decorative piece out of it. Buttons are a good example. Assemble the best-looking or most visually interesting of them, first of all. After that, it’s only a matter of finding some clasps and taking some wire, wire cutters and pliers to fasten them to a bracelet.

The Internet makes it very easy to find plenty of instructional manuals and guides that’ll teach you how to make attractive charm jewelry. You also won’t have to spend a lot of money doing it. If you want to make more complicated pieces, it’s always good to practice before doing so.

You shouldn’t hesitate to experiment, though. Pretty soon, you may find yourself able to make some fine charm jewelry in no time at all. Just remember to allow your creative side to emerge and have a bit of fun with it!

Celtic Wedding Rings

Celtic wedding rings employ the knot, a motif unique to Celtic art and a perfect symbolic representation of matrimony. Before we discuss Celtic wedding rings, a brief discussion of the origins of the form is in order. The term “Celts” refers to a large number of different ethnic and tribal groups united by the Celtic language. The Celtic language is, more properly, a group of Indo-European languages identified by linguists as being of common origin.

The Celtic nations are essentially the British Isles with the exception of Ireland. In England the Celtic tradition was subsumed by Anglo-Saxon culture. The long held belief that all Cetic culture trace back to a common tribe has been disproved by genetic investigators and it is now believed Celtic culture was spread by conquering other unrelated tribes or through simple cultural influence of neighboring peoples.

Celtic art in modern usage refers to the designs and motifs that came to prominence during the Celtic art revival of the eighteenth century. This revival was born out of the desire by the Welsh and Scottish to assert their cultural identities in the face of the dominance of English culture in political and religious areas.

Celtic art is primarily ornamental, making it well suited to jewelry. In this it has more in common with Arabic art than with the representational art of the classical tradition. Unlike Arabic art, however, Celtic art avoids straight lines and employs symmetry only sparingly.

A common and unique motif in Celtic art is the knot. It is used to symbolize infinity, eternity and union. It is this that makes Celtic bands uniquely suited for matrimonial jewelry.

Modern Celtic wedding rings utilize any of about a dozen traditional Celtic knot patterns. Two or three patterns are sometimes combined. Added to this are edging styles or even edgeless models, which is made possible by fashioning the metal as rope strands that serve as their own edges.

Common patterns used in Celtic wedding bands are the Infinity Motif (a two strand braid), the Trinity Knot (three interlocked petal-shapes, commonly found in Catholic Churches and similar to the universal sign representation for nuclear), the Celtic Knot, the Celtic Circle, the Newgrange Spiral, the Celtic Spiral and the Celtic Heart. The number of possible combinations of these designs is extremely large. When we add the ingenuity of modern artisans in edging styles and gem insets, Celtic wedding rings for every taste are available.
